Cleaning by Artwork Type
Materials differ. Match care to the presentation you ordered — not a single generic method.
Textured artwork
Raised peaks and grooves need minimal pressure. Use a soft brush lightly; do not scrape ridges, wipe aggressively across texture, vacuum directly, or use sticky rollers or wet wipes.
Framed artwork
Clean the frame exterior separately from the painted surface. A dry cloth is usually safest; a lightly damp cloth on the frame exterior only may be appropriate for some finishes — never let moisture reach the canvas or texture.

Protect Artwork from Strong Direct Sunlight
Light is part of living with art — prolonged strong sun is the risk to manage.
Direct sunlight
Avoid prolonged strong direct sun where possible. Long exposure can affect pigment, canvas, finish and frames over time. HTHA does not claim UV-proof or fade-proof performance.
Windows
Prefer indirect light, window coverings or a slightly different wall position if the piece receives strong direct sun for long periods.
Artificial light
Normal room lighting is fine. Keep intense spotlights or heat-generating lamps at a reasonable distance from the surface.

Keep artwork in a relatively stable indoor climate — avoid extremes rather than chasing precise percentages.

Steam, grease and condensation change what is suitable for canvas and textured work.
Bathrooms
High humidity and condensation may not suit canvas or textured artwork. Check ventilation and the specific product materials before hanging in a bathroom.
Kitchens
Avoid placement directly above a stove, very close to a sink, or in high-grease / high-steam zones where residue and moisture can reach the surface.
Frames
Frames & Glazing
Treat the frame and the artwork face as separate surfaces. Confirm what your product includes.
Frame exterior
Dust the frame separately. Do not transfer frame-cleaning methods onto the painted or textured face.
If glazing is present
Some pieces may include glass or acrylic. Clean glazing with product applied to a cloth — not sprayed onto the artwork — and keep liquid away from edges and the canvas. Confirm what your product actually includes.
Hardware check
Periodically confirm that hanging hardware and frame corners still look secure after installation.

How to hold
Use clean, dry hands. Hold the frame or stretcher structure — not the painted face. Avoid pressing the canvas center.
Never lift by wire
Do not use hanging wire or D-rings as carrying handles. Support from the lower frame or stretcher edges and keep the piece upright where practical.
Large & oversized
Use two or more people when appropriate, protect corners and texture, and consider professional movers for very large or heavy works.
Storage
Storing Artwork Safely
Dry, clean and protected — without trapping moisture against the painted face.
Short-term
Store upright in a clean, dry indoor space when possible. Protect corners and keep surfaces from pressing against textured faces.
Longer storage
Avoid basements, attics or sheds with uncontrolled humidity. Do not wrap painted surfaces in plastic that can trap condensation against the face.
Stacked pieces
If pieces must be stacked briefly, separate faces with clean, soft interleaving and never rest weight on raised texture.

Raised paint and layered surfaces catch dust — and catch damage if cleaned aggressively.
